Homepage Requirements Who's Affected Test Information Testing Substitutions HS Diploma Information CHSPE Test Information Paraprofessional Job Openings Accrediting Agencies District Proficiency Sample Test (.pdf)	Requirements for Paraprofessionals Hired On or Before January 8, 2002 Paraprofessionals hired before January 8, 2002 have until June 30, 2006 to meet the new requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.  All paraprofessionals must have a high school diploma or GED.  In addition, paraprofessionals hired on or before January 8, 2002 can meet the new requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 in one of the following ways: Have 60 semester or 90 quarter units from a recognized college or university OR Have an associate (or higher) degree from a recognized college or university OR Pass the District Proficiency Test and the Instructional Assistance Test Requirements for Paraprofessionals Hired After January 8, 2002 and New Hires District policy and the NCLBA requires all paraprofessionals must have a high school diploma or GED and are required to pass the District Proficiency Test.  In addition, paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002 can meet the new requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 in one of the following ways: Have 60 semester or 90 quarter units from a recognized college or university and pass the District Proficiency Test OR Have an associate degree from a recognized college or university OR Pass the the Instructional Assistance Test
