590 SALARY DIFFERENTIAL FOR NOTARY PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY
A. Under conditions and procedures in this Rule, regular full-time employees shall be paid a differential of $45.00 per pay period, if the administration certifies that, in addition to regularly assigned duties, the employee is required to perform Notary Public duties, such as administering oaths, witnessing the signing of documents and notarizing documents.
B. The employee must be filed currently as a Notary Public with the County of Los Angeles.
C. This differential shall be a long-term differential and shall be continued during paid absences. A differential authorized by this Rule shall not affect salary reallocation upon promotion, demotion, transfer, multiple assignment, or other assignment action.
D. An authorized differential shall be withdrawn upon certification by the administration that the incumbent of the position is no longer assigned the notarizing responsibility or by the order of the Personnel Commission when an audit of the position indicates that the duties and responsibilities assigned do not meet the requirements of this Rule, effective the first day of the next pay period, if the position is occupied, or immediately, if the position is vacant.
CHANGE:
Salary differential amount increased to $45.00 from the original $25.00.
