PACE stands for Program Accelerated College Education. PACE is a two to two and a half year program available at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Compton College, East Los Angeles College, and Los Angeles Harbor College which offers general education courses in a format designed especially for adult students.

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College

At LATTC, full-time PACE students take four courses (12 units) per semester making it possible to complete the program in two years (including two summer sessions). PACE classes are eight to nine weeks in length with two classes taught the first half of the semester and two classes taught the second half of the semester. Students attend class one night a week (from 5:30-9:30pm), view one eight hour video per class, and attend a pre-determined number of Saturday Conferences (8am-5pm).

LATTC's PACE curriculum is designed for a liberal arts major with an emphasis in liberal studies, the humanities, or business. There is also an education curriculum for students hoping to become elementary school teachers. For more information, contact LATTC's PACE office at (213) 744-9447.

Compton College

At Compton College, PACE stands for Project for Adult College Education. This five semester program requires students to attend class one evening per week for four hours (two hours for one class and two hours for another), participate in five all day Saturday Conferences and one half day Saturday Conference, and view one hour of instructional television per course per week. English, Math, and Science courses offered through PACE may also require additional laboratory hours during the semester.
