The following health benefit options are available to eligible employees and their dependents. The district pays 100% of the premiums for employees and all eligible dependents.

Sick Leave

Employees who work full-time, 12 months a year, are credited with 13 paid illness days each year which, if unused, are accumulated from year-to-year. Until an employee has accumulated 100 full-pay illness days, half-pay illness days are also available. The number of half-pay days are awarded equal to 100 minus the number of full-pay days accumulated in the employee's illness leave account.

Life Insurance

The district provides a $20,000 life insurance policy for all eligible employees. Employees may purchase additional life insurance through the Optional Life Insurance Program.

Employee Assistance Program

Managed Health Network offers numerous services to LAUSD employees including a 24 hour, toll free, confidential "Warm Line" that can be reached by calling 1-800-95-LAUSD.
