the Imagination: Drama Tools for Developing Visual
Imagery Lesson Plan
This lesson will use
drama techniques to help students develop their own
visual imagery skills. The lesson will begin by
exploring visual images in our world. Students will
next explore visual images through a series of
theatrical games and exercises. They will create
performance pieces in a tableau format using visual
arts masterpieces as their starting text then adding
sound, words, music, and theatrical techniques to
create a performance piece. They will record the
performance pieces in a script format using Microsoft
Word.
