It's the Right Thing Lesson Plan
In this lesson, students will learn the six types of triangles and the characteristics each one possesses. They will learn to read the degrees of an angle using a protractor, be able to determine proportions between heights and shadows, use ratio to find an unmeasureable object through the height to its shadow, understand the Pythagorean Theorem and how to use the formula, and learn to evaluate and compare congruent and similar right triangles. Using Microsoft Excel, students will compare sizes of the two legs of the right angle to find that the ratio between the height and the shadow are in proportion to each other.
