Hero Awards Lesson Plan
Students will discuss characteristics of heroes and agree upon a definition and examples. They will research the lives of heroes and use graphic organizers for taking notes, writing a presentation in PowerPoint to persuade the audience of the merit of their hero. Finally, Students will present their hero award presentation to their class or community using PowerPoint.

  A Webquest site that challenges students to define a hero and then nominate one person as "Hero of the Century."
• The Biography Website
  A website tied to The Biography Channel and Biography Magazine with trivia and information on significant personalities.
• History Channel
  Website with historical information that can be searched for information on people throughout history.
• World History
  A timeline of famous people and the era in which they live.
• Think Different
  A Webquest site that uses the Apple Computer "Think Different" campaign as a starting point for research on one of the many individuals featured in the campaign.
