Provides participants with information about each component in a balanced reading program. It explores the teacher's role and student's role within each component and it examines possible groupings, individualized instruction, and assessment of student in an effort to maximize student learning and teacher effectiveness. The role of the paraprofessional, parent, and administrator is also discussed in order to provide a clearer understanding of how support can extend within and beyond the classroom.
