Funding Agency: Toyota Motor Sales USA in conjunction with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)
Purpose: The Toyota Tapestry program is inviting applications for environmental education and physical science projects for K-12 teachers.  Environmental education projects should   emphasize efficient use of natural resources and protection of the environment.  Should increase students' awareness of the environment and their understanding of their interdependence with the natural world.  Physical science projects   should elate the laws, principles, and concepts of physics and chemistry to phenomena that relate to students lives, interests and experiences.  Literacy and science education projectsshould focus on the development of literacy skills in the context of science teaching and learning.
Eligibility: Elementary school teachers who teach some science in the classroom and middle and high school science teachers.

Total Funds Available: $550,000
Average Award: Fifty one-year grants up to $10,000 each and 20 mini-grants of $2,500 each.
