Earth Apple Awards
(Energy Consumption)
Funding Agency: Alliance to Save Energy
Purpose: The Earth Apple Awards Program is an annual year-long competition for ANY school that involves students in saving energy in a school building site.
Eligibility: Schools that have made an impact on energy consumption through student action are eligible to apply.
Grade Level: K-12
Subject Area: Energy consumption
Deadline: The deadline is June 30, 2004.  Recorded activities must be within the 2003-2004 school year to count towards the Earth Apple application.  Awards will be announced in August/September of 2004.
Average Award: The grand prize wuinner receives a trip to Washington D.C., where school representatives are recognized publicly and presented with a trophy and prize.  Every school that enters receives a prize, with top winners receiving exciting prizes to help them continue their energy saving work, such as laptops, tool kits, digital cameras and digital camcorders.
