Yucca grows throughout the chaparral and blooms between
the months of March and May. The Yucca plant shares a
special relationship with the Yucca Moth, the only insect
that can pollinate the Yucca. Its tough sword-shaped
leaves were often used to make rope, soap, and shampoo.
When in bloom, several thousand white or cream flowers
grow on its ten-foot stalk. |
