Clear Creek offers programs seven days a week all year long that
provide students of different ages an adventure they won't soon forget.
Students will have the opportunity to explore some of California's
native habitat and participate in lessons that were developed using
the California Science Content Standards. The curriculum will
cover topics such as general ecology, zoology, geology and local
history and concepts such as adaptations, interrelationships, and
cycles. Activities include hiking, trailside lessons and
instructional games.

Fourth- and fifth-grade students participate Monday through Friday in a
program that includes day and night hikes where plants, animals, stars,
weather, rocks and minerals are studied. Other activities include
crafts, cooperative games, and evening campfires. Los Angeles
Unified School District schools are selected on a rotating
basis by the Office of Outdoor Education.

Secondary students participate Friday evening through Sunday afternoon
in a program that includes day and night hikes, campfires, crafts,
plus an opportunity to work on individual school objectives.
Los Angeles Unified School District middle and senior high schools may
submit a proposal to be considered for participation. The Office
of
Outdoor Education begins accepting proposals in April for the following
school year (818/587-4352).

The day trip includes a hike where students learn interesting facts and
concepts about the plants and animals of the area. Teachers may
reserve day trips for second- through twelfth-grade
students of the Los Angeles Unified School District by calling the
Office of Outdoor Education (818/587-4352).
