Bobcats have short bobtails from which they get their name. They make their homes in scrubby open woodlands, thickets, and marshes. They are mainly nocturnal animals and may cover twenty miles or more when hunting for food at night. Bobcats are also good swimmers and climbers and often hang-out on tree branches.

Clear Creek is home to Gabby, a seven year old bobcat. As a kit she was removed from the wild and imprinted to humans, and as such never learned the skills necessary to live in the wild.
