HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE FOR YOUR GATEWAY COMPUTERS FOLLOWING MPC BANKRUPTCY

Service and Repair for Gateway Computers within their Warranty Period

General repair guidelines - Reference Guide 1657.2.

In order to minimize the impact of MPC/Gateway's bankruptcy filing to schools and offices, IT computer repair technicians will provide service to these computers. Repair support will follow the general repair guidelines described in the Reference Guide 1657.2.

Repair/replacement service will not be provided for desktop mice, keyboards, or monitors. The consideration of the current value of the computer will also be used when determining if the equipment is “Beyond Economical Repair.”

If the repair can be done with generic parts, IT Computer Repair technicians will attempt to service the machine. Should the repair require a specific MPC/Gateway part for repair and if it can no longer be acquired, the computer may be deemed irreparable.
