David Tokofsky

Tokofsky coached Los Angeles Unified's first National Academic Decathlon Championship Team from John Marshall High School in 1987. His Mock Trial team won - l992 California State Champions, 1988 and 1989 Los Angeles County Champions, and placed second in the 1990 national finals. Tokofsky also coached soccer.

Tokofsky is an Honors Graduate, University of California - Berkeley, 1983, in both History and Spanish. His research focused on Traditionalist and radical responses to both commercial and industry revolutions. He earned his teaching credentials in history, Spanish and social sciences.

In the current school year 1995-96, Tokofsky will serve on the Audit, Business and Operations and Cities, County and Community Relations Committees. Tokofsky will also represent the Board on the County Committee on School District Organization.

David Tokofsky represents Board District Five which includes Los Angeles, as well as parts of East Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Tokofsky represents the following neighborhoods: Sylmar, San Fernando, Mission Hills, parts of Granada Hills, Pacoima, Arleta, Sun Valley, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Eagle Rock, Atwater Village, Elysian Valley, Cypress Park, Highland Park, Glassell Park, Monterey Hills, Montecito Heights, Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, El Sereno and East Los Angeles. Tokofsky was elected to the Board in June, 1995. As the elected Board member from District Five, Tokofsky represents a population of 610,000 Angelenos.
