SUPERINTENDENT'S STRATEGIC PLAN

Superintendent Romer gave a brief summary on his five-year strategic plan and introduced Judy Burton, Local District B Superintendent, Renee Jackson, Local District G Superintendent, and Obie Slayman, a parent, gave some perspective to the strategic plan.

Ms. Burton and Ms. Jackson shared information on how the local districts have disseminated information about the strategic plan to their staff and communities. Ms. Burton commented on the procedures used to provide opportunities to discuss and input into the strategic plan. Each of the eleven districts have discussed the strategic plan with their communities and staff.

Ms. Obie Slayman, a parent from El Camino Real High School, and a member of the Parent Collaborative Advisory Committee (PCAC), has taken an active part in the review of the Superintendent's strategic plan. She commented on the opportunity to review and critique the plan. Ms. Slayman commented the District does well in providing support to students in many areas including the gifted students, but one area the PCAC and their constituents would like to see is more focus and support on an ongoing basis is for the mid-range students.
