Verdugo Day:Presented by Leadership, May 25, Friday.
It was suggested to look at new booths and ideas to make
money. Tickets should be sold ahead of time, Mrs. Dellepiane
will help sell tickets if necessary. Phony tickets were
a problem lost year, so Mr. Plevack suggested we get a
computer, program so we can print unique tickets for our
events.
Homecoming 2001: Friday, November 2. Dance Nov. 3 (Gene
Autry Museum?)
The crumbling VHHS marquis sign may be replaced if our
API money shows up.
Suggested that we upgrade our folders given to 9th graders
so that all necessary forms are in one packet.
Principal's report: Accreditation went well. The visiting
team was impressed with our students.
Special thanks to Kay Burr, Jere Mendelsohn, Holly Campbell,
Yvonne Mojica, Diane DeBoer,and Aaron Peterson. VHHS band
got a first place in a regional color guard event.
VHHS cheerleaders took first place in a regional competition.
Dress Code: Leadership and the discipline committee will
meet with Dr. Wells and hammer out a new code.
VHTV:District has agreed that VHHS should reclaim the
building for more class space. Official word should go
to AT&T next week.
Assistant Principal position: 9 applications, screened
by the district to 7 eligible candidates. The interview
committee ( Jennifer Ingram, Jean Hoelscher, Mary Gerdwagen,
Hector Ornelas, and Charlie Noyes) will interview the
4 strongest candidates. A choice will be made after spring
break.
Photo Exhibition: Mrs. Hoelscher is having an ongoing
exhibition of her photographs at The McGroaty Museum in
Tujunga.
Car Vandalism: The perp has been caught. The emblems
have been recovered and will eventually be returned.
Literacy:There will be a secondary literacy plan. A literacy
coach at every school. Extra instruction for students
below grade in literacy.
