The meeting began at 3:30 pm.
Mr. Ralles began the meeting with a description and explanation
of next year's bell schedule. This is due to the new contract
that has directed all schools to "bank" time
and have staff development for ALL teachers and administrators.
There will be no athletic team practices during the staff
development time.
We will start 4 minutes earlier, 7:56 am, and end 4 minutes
later, 3:10 pm. Again this is district mandated and there
are no waivers.
On our staff development days, there will be no 4th period.
School will be over at 1:34 pm. Common planning/staff
development time will be 1:40 pm to 3: 1 0 pm.
Mr. Ralles has also updated and rewritten our School
Action Plan (SAP). He has synthesized our accreditation
plan, the smaller learning communities plan, the digital
high school plan, and our existing SAP.
Mr. Ornelas requested that all teachers please return
the Teacher's Absence Report, especially if a student
was marked absent but came to your class. Thanks.
This was the last meeting for Glenda and Dick Thomas.
Mr. Nelson thanked them for all their hard work for VHHS.

It was suggested that Mrs. Dellepiane get Rose Marie
Jerz together with Mr. Rogers to get the community to
help with the Saturday clean up day.
Mr. Noyes mentioned the new part of the contract that
talks about classroom interruptions. The biggest change
is that student summons are to be delivered to teachers
prior to the beginning of the classroom period. We disagree
that the most appropriate time to summons students is
the the first and last ten minutes of the period. We want
to keep the first and last ten minutes clear of extra
students walking the campus. We feel the most appropriate
time for VHHS is other than the first and last ten minutes.
The meeting ended about 4:15 pm.
The next meeting will be the second week of September.
