Turner Stadium

Friday, October 13, 2000 Dr. Gary Turner is honored by receiving a stadium in his name: "The Turner Stadium." In recognition of his commitment to school, the community members, faculty and alumni of Verdugo Hills High School voted to name the stadium after him.

For years, Dr. Turner "battled" to have lights installed in the stadium, so that games could be played in the evening hours. In 1998, he finally succeeded and the first evening football game was a fact on October 9.
