Lisa Karahalios participates in Jeopardy.
March, 2001. Lisa Karahalios, a social science teacher
at Verdugo Hills, took part in the Jeopardy contest.
She passed the written, preliminary test in order to participate
in the game show. This written test consisted of 50 questions,
after which she played a mock game to prepare her for the
real thing.
In order to prepare for the contest, Lisa purchased a book
of Trivia and increased her knowledge on subject matter
like European History with the help of her students. John
Ochoa, the history trivia master, was especially helpful
with quizzing Lisa. Lisa herself said that she probably
"drove my fellow teachers crazy by asking them all
sorts of questions."
Lisa's experience with the game show host was very positive.
"Alex Trebek was nice, but then again, which Canadian
isn't?' This was the second game show that Lisa participated
in. She also aired on Debt with Wink Martindale and
won about $7400.-
Lisa will not divulge the outcome of this Jeopardy contest
yet. Instead, if you would like to find out, please watch
the show on Friday June 22, 2001, ABC, Channel 7, 19:00
hours (in the Los Angeles area).
Verdugo is proud of quality teachers such as Lisa. Good
luck, Lisa!
