The Powerade van was the focus of a commercial for the popular sports drink filmed in the middle of Verdugo's Kersey Field.
The following COMMERICALS were shot on location at Verdugo Hills High School. The dates in parentheses after the title indicate the filming date.

Commercial will be aired in Puerto Rico only. Most shots
were made in the locker rooms, the library and main entrance
of our school, focusing on actors from the waist down,
i.e., on the shoes they were wearing.

Pokémon (1999)
With the Japanese cartoon characters currently all the
rage among youngsters, a commercial for the Pokémon
franchise was filmed at Verdugo during the 1999 Winter
Break. Look for it during the Spring 2000 television season.
National Basketball Association (1999)
Allen Iverson, the NBA's highest paid athlete, appeared
in a commerical for a league promo highlighting Turner
Network Television's broadcasts of the 1999-2000 season
games. The commercial was filmed in Verdugo's north gym
in August, 1999, and aired throughout the following months.
Powerade (1999)
A commercial for this sports drink was shot on the Verdugo
campus March 14 and 15, 1999. Look for scenes on Kersey
Field and in the boys' gym to air later this year. The
athletic office scene was actually shot in a small set
built on the 20-yard line of the field.
Electric Power (1999)
A commerical dealing with electric power deregulation
in California was filmed on the VHHS campus in May, 1999.
Earthquake Preparedness(1999)
Verdugo was the location for a public service spot dealing
with earthquake safety. Filmed in mid-1999, the spot aired
later that year.
Southwest Airlines (1999)
The boy's gym at Verdugo was the setting for a Southwest
Airlines commercial starring famed professional baseball
pitcher and strike-out king Nolan Ryan. Filmed on March
10, 1999, the commercial aired later in the year.
Sylvan Learning Centers (1998)
This series of commericals were shot on campus in late
1998 and ran through about mid-1999. The most recognizable
features included a student in a VHHS band uniform in
one commercial and a backdrop of Glenn Hall in another.
Entenmann's (1998)
This commercial for the baked goods company showed football
players on Kersey Field. It was filmed in the Fall of
1998.
Jack-In-The-Box (1997)
A classroom in Verdugo's main building was the site
of a commercial for fast food restaurant Jack-In-The-Box
shot in Spring 1997.
Chef Boy-Ar-Dee (1997)
In March 1997, Verdugo hosted the filming of a commercial
for this well-known pasta products brand in the south
hall of the main building.
Ameritech (1997)
A classroom in main building served as the setting for
a commercial for this Chicago-based Regional Bell Operating
Company.
