Jewelry Making (Beginning) – FEE BASED The intention of this class is to introduce students to basic professional Jewelry making techniques. Subjects to be covered will include bench work fabrication, starting with base metals, copper, brass, and nickel silver, then moving onto working with sterling silver. After working on three projects in fabrication, the next subject will be lost wax casting. You will learn about and work with the different type of waxes set up and cast your creations using professional equipment. We end this course with faceted gemstone setting. Jewelry Making (Advanced) - FEE BASED This course is designed to broaden and improve skills of those already knowledgeable in the basic methods of jewelry fabrication. Students are introduced to the wider range of materials, methods and equipment used in the modern jewelry industry. These include hand tools, shop equipment, industrial processes, metals, gemstones, chemicals, and bench tips designed to improve quality and productivity. Course topics vary from use of the newest equipment to the re-creation of ancient alloys and methods. Focus is on learning processes and becoming proficient in their use. Students develop confidence in applying these processes within their own design projects and are encourage to work together to take their skills to a higher level.

Still Photography / Black & White Techniques - FEE BASED This course provides practical instruction and activities in developing the skills and technical knowledge for an understanding and possible placement in the field as a professional photographer. It includes the study of taking, developing and printing of interior and exterior photographs; types of cameras and photographic equipment, darkroom techniques; lighting, shooting, light measurements, camera adjustment, focusing, f-stops, shutter speeds, and filters.
