Time-on-Task Card Policies:
-
Upon arriving on campus, all students are expected to obtain a
Time-on-Task
card from the Main Office.
-
Students should take their Time-on-Task card to the classroom of their
choice, or the classroom they mandated to be in.
-
Students are responsible for making sure they are "clocked in" at all
times.
- The earliest time a student can get "clocked in" is 7:30 AM,
otherwise it is at the teacher's discretion.
- If a student enters the classroom after 8:00 AM, they
are considered tardy,
and 10 minutes will be
automatically added to their required time.
- If a student comes after 8:30,
they are considered excessively tardy,
and 15 minutes will be automatically
added to their required time, and they will receive a red
dot.
-
The time students are allowed to leave campus depends on:
-
The color of their card (determined by their academic achievement in
points
earned)
-
The time they actually get in class and get clocked in.
-
Students are responsible for making sure a teacher has their
Time-on-Task
card when they leave campus:
-
Leaving campus with your card will result in a red dot.
-
Leaving early, before their assigned time, will result in a red
dot.
-
Students are responsible for knowing at what time they are allowed to
leave.
-
The following times are mandatory:
-
Gold Card (75 points in 3
weeks) = 4 hours & 10 minutes.
-
Silver Card (55 points in 3
weeks) = 4 hours & 30 minutes.
-
Bronze Card (less than 55
points in 3 weeks) = 5 hours and 4 academic
points.
-
Bronze Card students may not leave campus until they have earned 4
academic
points, regardless of how much time they have on their cards.
-
Students who are chronically "off task" and unproductive can expect to
be "clocked out."
-
If they are able to get back on task, students may be allowed to stay
in
the classroom at the teacher's discretion.
-
If they are unable to get back on task, students will be asked to leave
the classroom, for a time depending on the teacher's discretion.
-
If students become disruptive, disrespectful, or defiant, they can
expect
to be "starred out" of the classroom.
-
In this case, students are suspended from that classroom for the day.
-
If students are starred out of all 3 classrooms in the same day, they
will
receive a red dot.
-
Regardless of the color of the Time-on-Task card, students are advised
that time may be added to the card at the teacher's discretion:
-
If the student fails to participate in Sustained Silent Reading.
-
If the student is defiant, disruptive, or disrespectful.
- If the student is sleeping in class.
-
When leaving a classroom to go to another classroom, students are
responsible
for:
-
picking up their card & making sure the time on it is current.
-
dropping off their card with the next teacher.
