The parents, teachers and students at Russell Elementary believe that every child can learn and that learning is a life long activity. Russell's goal is to educate the whole child by exposing its students to a variety of learning experiences, techniques and environments. Our goal at Russell is to meet our students' needs and to prepare them for the future in an ever changing world.

Russell Elementary School is a year round inner-city school in South Central Los Angeles serving 1100 students in grades Pre K, K, 1-5. Russell's student population is 90% Hispanic and 10% African American. The faculty consists of 60 regular classroom teachers, three (3) special education teachers, 11 aides, counselor, Bilingual coordinator and Title I coordinator. Our students also receive the part-time services of a psychologist, speech therapist, nurse, a social worker and a Resource Specialist Teacher.
