It is a pleasure to join the online educational community. I believe that as technology becomes part of our daily routine, this website will allow us to have a meeting place where educators, students, parents and other stakeholders would learn more about this learning community we call Rosemont Avenue School.

We are proud of our rich curriculum and our strong instructional program. Student academic achievement continues to be our focus. We continually strive to improve the quality of instruction for all of our students. To this end, teachers are learning just as students do---by building on prior knowledge in a cohesive, planned manner. Classroom doors are open and colleagues are sharing out with the broader community of learners. Peer observations are occ urring formally and informally.

Parent trainings have also become much more specific in content. While general ideas such as nutrition and study habits are still discussed, the school now periodically hosts Wedne sday evening Family Literacy Events where parents learn, for example, how to review the Sound/Spelling Cards with their child and employ higher- level of questioning techniques during shared reading.

Overall, we are working very diligently to build a strong learning community with Rosemont Avenue School at the center. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderfully and talented group of individuals so firmly committed to education.
