Richland Avenue Booster Club The Richland Booster Club provides support to Richland Avenue so our children can receive the best education possible, and also fosters a sense of community that makes our school great. Booster has been an integral part in raising funds to build the new Wonder of Reading Library, purchasing the new mobile computer lab and rejuvenating the Richland Learning Garden. For more information contact Kami Turrou turrschreib@earthlink.net Rachael Keipp rachael.keipp@umusic.com  Richland Learning Garden- The garden is used to enhance District Curriculum and provide the children with a beautiful outdoor classroom to learn California science standards through hands-on activities. Back to school Picnic- A beginning of the year picnic for new and returning families, staff and support members of Richland Avenue School, Annual Halloween Scare Fair- We have the best Haunted House on the West Side! Staff Appreciation Week- We have a fabulous staff at Richland who deserve our thanks. International Festival and Silent Auction- For one week classrooms learn about heritage and cultures from around the world. Students “tour the world” by visiting classrooms displaying art and writing about the countries studied. At the end of International Week the Booster Club sponsors an International Festival & Silent Auction. School Beautification Projects/ Community Days throughout the year: Over the last year Booster Club has planted new trees and provided new murals and landscaping on the exterior of the school. Fundraising School Cents Catalog Sales BoxTops and Cambell’s Labels Scholastic Book Fair Grocery Cards Winter Program Bake Sale Escrips Ralph’s Von’s Wamoola for Schools Target Cards Volunteer Opportunities Richland Learning Garden Help coordinate and overall plan for the garden. Help with garden maintenance. Plant and harvest with classrooms. Back to School Picnic Help plan menus and activities for the school picnic. Fall Gift Wrap Sale/Spring Gift Sale Collect and distribute catalog orders Back to School Night Plan and serve food to parents Halloween Carnival and Haunted House Help coordinate event. Take charge of a booth Work a shift at a booth Winter Programs Bake Sale Coordinate donations and sell coffee and treats before the program. International Festival and Silent Auction Help plan entertainment and activities. Assist with collecting silent Auction Items. Assist during the festival with various activities. Staff Appreciation Week Coordinate gifts and luncheon for the staff. Spring Open House Coordinate and sell food for Open House Scholastic Bookfair Manage and set up book fair. Sign parents up to help with book sales. School Beautification/Community Days throughout the year Coordinate activities for parents. Cleaning classrooms, gardening, painting, and general school improvement. School Cents Coordinating logging of receipts and advertise activities for School Cents in conjunction with the Westside Pavilion Mall. Attend about 6 meetings a year at the Westside Pavilion Scrip and Grocery Cards Advertise and get parents to sign up and participate in the programs. Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels Collect labels, organize and mail in labels for cash for the school. School Councils Become a member of School Site, Local School Leadership, CEAC and ELAC. Become involved in policy making decisions.
