Mr. Bobrosky, Library Media Teacher Mr. Bobrosky has been teaching at Reed since 1978. He started as an art teacher, taught math for twenty years, and then in 1998 decided he needed a change. His love of books, interest in technology and artistic skills were a perfect match for the library. He started to take classes in 1998 at Cal State Long Beach to get his Library Media Services credential. He will finish in the spring of 2001. He loves his new position and looks forward to seeing every student at Reed in the library. Mr. Bobrosky and his wife Sherrie have three lovely girls Rachel, Rebecca and Hannah. |

Library Practice Students
The Reed Library employs about 12 library practice students a semester. These students learn the organization of a library, shelf books, circulate books, process books and assist students and staff in the retrieval of information. Applications go out in June for the fall semester and in December for the spring semester.
Walter Reed was built in 1939 with WPA funds during WWII. When the school opened it was hailed as one of the most modern facilities of its kind in the country. Today, Walter Reed stands as a beautiful neoclassic structure. The library is a large room with a 30 ft barrel vaulted ceiling. Shelving and wood accents are in dark oak. Five large arched windows grace the eastern wall. The room has a classic, traditional feel to it. The classic library atmosphere has drawn the attention of movie studios. The most recent major motion picture filmed in the library was Primary Colors. Look for our library in the opening segment of the movie.
The Collection
- the library currently holds about 13,000 volumes

Technology
The library is automated with the Winnebago system (see Online Catalog). We are in the process of networking the entire school, with T1 access to the Internet. This will allow every room in the school to have access to the library's online catalog and all of its CD-ROM resources, as well as the online resources that we subscribe to. We willoffer computers for Internet research as well as word processing and multimedia productivity.
