General Information

Pacoima Skills Center (PSC) is fast becoming the learning institution of choice for Northeast San Fernando Valley residents. Here are a few reasons:

Location: Our main campus is centrally located in the heart of Pacoima. It is in close proximity to the library, businesses, and the new City Hall. It is easily accessible by bus. Our school branches are strategically located to serve you just as well. Please call for an updated list of a location near you.

Ambience: At our main campus, you will feel part of our learning family. It is small in comparison to other schools, but you will be amazed what you can accomplish here.

Accreditation: PSC is a full-time Employment Preparation and Training Center operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District's Division of Adult and Career Education.  PSC is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. That means that the instruction you receive meets the guidelines set by the State of California.

Variety of Programs:  In addition to providing short-term vocational training, classes for the High School Diploma, and GED Prep in English and Spanish are available.  ESL classes are provided on campus and through our Distance Learning Program.

Convenience: Students may enroll in open entry/open exit classes at any time during the school year if space is available. Registration is available on a "first come" basis.  Waiting lists are valid for the current class term only.

Testing Center and Counselors: To avoid the guesswork and to save you time, we will test you and enroll you in the appropriate level before you enroll in a class. In addition, you may speak to one of our counselors. We have a Counselor for students with special needs.

Teachers: All our teachers are certified by the State of California and have undergone mandatory training. Some of our teachers offer workshops in state and local conferences and some have received prestigious awards.

Support Staff: Our staff is diverse, bilingual in English/Spanish and other languages.
Low fees: Most of our courses are free. Certain courses require fees and books, but we doour best to keep them low.

Students: Your fellow students come from all walks of life. Most students seek to improve their lives through education and training. Their uniqueness and desire to learn have made PSC what it is today.

We hope you will seriously consider PSC to help you reach your educational goals. Please call or come in to obtain additional information or for an individualized learning program.
