ASSESSMENT RUBRIC FOR LANGUAGE ARTS CONTENT

First, choose the standard(s) that you wish to address. Second, use the following four point scale to describe work performance

four is the highest score (advanced)

three (proficient)

two (partially proficient)

one (not proficient)

For example:

4: Uses all correct spelling, grammar, usage, sentence structure, capitalization, and punctuation for clarity; replies to questions and asks the given question.

 

3: Uses mostly correct spelling, grammar, usage, sentence structure,capitalization, and punctuation for clarity; replies to questions and asks the given question.

 

2: Makes some mistakes in spelling, grammar, usage, sentence structure, capitalization, and punctuation for clarity, asks but does not answer question (s) (but asks the given question); exhibits poor penmanship.

 

1: Makes many errors in spelling, grammar, usage, sentence structure,capitalization, and punctuation; does not ask and answer given questions; is written in handwriting which is difficult to decipher.
