The Highly Gifted Magnet (HGM) at North Hollywood High School, LAUSD, is an academically challenging college preparatory program designed for the highly gifted students in the Los Angeles area. We provide an environment that encourages young people to learn, and we offer classes at Honors and Advanced Placement level for students bound for the best colleges and universities in the country.

SENIOR TRIP

HGM seniors participated in a week long trip to Yosemite National Park.
Activities included hikes up Yosemite Falls, Half dome, and Nevada Falls.

SENIOR NIGHT

The HGM junior class invites the seniors to the Senior Night.

WINTER BALL

HGM students join the Zoo Magnet students for Winter Ball at the Los Angeles Zoo.

MULTICULTURAL FAIR

Across the World Multicultural Fair is an opportunity for students on campus to share their heritage with the rest of the school. This week-long event allows students to set up booths and present their cultures through art, music, dance, fashion, and food.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON

North Hollywood High School Academic Decathlon team places 3rd at the state competition. They placed 2nd in the regional competition.

DUKE MOOT COURT

HGM students participate in the annual Duke Moot Court competition at Duke university..

CAREER DAY

Several HGM alumni representing various professions including law,engineering, science, and business visited the campus and talked with students on the annual Career Day.

SCIENCE BOWL

North Hollywood High School Science Bowl Team won the regional competition and placed second at state competition.

ART COMPETITION

HGM students participate in various art projects an competitions. NHHS Varsity Clay Team placed first and second in six of the ten events in the annual Clay Day held at CSUN.

FRISBEE

Frisbee Club meets during lunch to play Ultimate Frisbee. This game is a fast-paced mix of football and soccerplayed with a disc instead a ball.

MATH COMPETITIONS

Math Club members participate in various regional and national competitions each year.
