United Teachers of Los Angeles President visits Mulholland

UTLA president John Duffy, center, Jerry Strealy, UTLA Chapter Chair, right, and Dr. John White, principal, chat during Presidents Duffey's visit.
The President talked with teachers during lunch on September 28, 2006 discussing union business and the present contract negotiations. Mulholland teachers expressed their concerns about salary and health benefits.

Ashley R. Award

On September 23, Mark Haefele and Dr. Sharon Sekhon presented Mulholland Student, Ashley R, with her award in the photo / essay contest "Work in Southern California". The contest was held by the Studio for Southern California History. Ashley's picture was a collage taken at the Los Angeles Times book fair held at UCLA. Her essay expresses her appreciation of the work of various authors and her wish to some day become an author in her own right. She received a museum shirt, a book and a $250 check.

  • Tested every student for his or her reading level.
  • Equipped every homeroom room with a 50 book library designed to meet the reading level of the students in that homeroom.
  • Students took tests on over 9,000 books that they read.

More then 200,000 Algebra problems attempted by our students.
