One of two schools in LAUSD
The California School Recognition Program was created in 1985 to communicate and reinforce the priorities of the State Board of Education and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Each year the program identifies and honors some of the state's most exemplary public schools.

 
Governor's Performance Award, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003
Millikan is the only secondary school in the district and one of only eight secondary schools in the state that has surpassed it's A.P.I. goals in every student subgroup for each of the last three years.

Governor's Performance Awards
               (High Achieving Improving Schools Program)
The GPA is a competitive program based on the Academic Performance Index (API). It is open to any school that has valid APIs. This award program is intended for school wide usage and is awarded on a per pupil basis.
