Metropolitan High School is the largest single-site continuation program in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The campus is located at 727 S. Wilson St., Los Angeles, CA 90021.
Open all year, Metropolitan offers all of the courses required for graduation in a full-day program for students throughout the district. Through a partnership with Metropolitan Skills Center, we offer a variety of vocational classes, as will as, numerous electives. Our students work in a highly structured environment where expectations are high, and they participate in additional programs to prepare then for a successful future. Some of these programs include: concurrent college enrollment (through Los Angeles City College); non-violent relationship workshops; work experience; student support groups; social etiquette workshops; self defense classes; and an annual career fair; and family health services.
At Metropolitan High School we feel that we have the best students in the district. At our school, in addition to their academics, students learn to be responsible adults with strong interpersonal skills. Upon graduation, our students are expected to attend college or a program for further training.
To enroll at Metropolitan High School,
students must be referred by a call from a Dean at their traditional high
school. Students must be at least fifteen years old, and when accepted
at our school are required to attend an orientation with their parents
before actual enrollment.
