The Web Portfolio: In this unit ninth grade students take stock of their first year in high school. They write about themselves, research and write about a role model, chart their reading throughout the year, and reflect on their academic accomplishments for the year.

Writing: Cross-Age Tutoring between journalism seniors at Manual Arts HS in Los Angeles and fourth-graders at Bryant Elementary School in San Francisco.
