HAROLD LEHMAN (S '31) Artisan Art Editor; Notable Artist & Sculptor.

While living in Los Angeles during the 30's, HAROLD LEHMAN worked with the famous Mexican mural artist Siqueiros. Soon after he moved to New York, Mr. Lehman undertook a WPA project to design and paint a mural for Riker's Island, named "Man's Daily Bread." Details of this mural are included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum of Art in Washington DC as well as the Wolfsonian Collection in Miami, Florida.

Several of his Post Surrealist paintings were included in an exhibit that traveled to three museums from California to Utah called "Pacific Dreams." In addition to Salvidore Dali and Lehman, the show featured Surrealist and Post Surrealist artists that lived in Southern California during the 1930's. The exhibit was shown in LA. at the UCLA-Armond-Hammer Museum.
