Greetings Alumni!

I would like to thank all of you who attended The Purple & Gray Ball October 22, 2005 at The Proud Bird. With your participation it was a huge success. With 500 Alumni and guests, from the classes of 1935 to 2000, including Tommy Toiler himself, it was the event of the year.

We had several honorees from the Wall of Honor: Roy Ash W’35, Assemblyman Mark Ridley Thomas ’72, Dr. Benjamin Braziel ’74, Beverly Cook Wilson ’58, Det. Daryl McLemore ’73, Mittie Lawrence ’57, Olivia Parker Mitchell ’60, Jo Ann Cook Parker ’62 and Capt. Mario Ecung ’73, and Former Faculty: Calvin Fong W’60, Ferguson Rhemm W’43, Velma Keller, Priscilla Morgan, Leona Davis, Robbie Houston, Coach Reggie Morris, Coach Frank Garnett, Trudi Sturgeon and Present Faculty Dr. Hugo Pedrosa, Hayes Thrower and Joni Boykins.

Special THANKS! To the offices of Supervisor-Yvonne Brathwaite Burke, Assemblyman-Mark Ridley Thomas, Congresswoman-Diane Watson, Councilwoman-Jan Perry and Mayor-Antonio Villaraigosa for sending congratulation commendations to our Honorees and our Entertainer/DJ Teddy Johnson ’66.

I would also like to thank other Manual Arts staff who were a great help Mrs. Zarro(Sitemaster), Mr. Campbell(Woodshop), Sally & Student store staff, Mr. Baragon CAD design, Mr. Santos(Print shop), Mr. Engle, Mr. Armendariz, Mrs. Barsky(Art), Roberta(Photographer) and Edwin(Main Office).
