Description of the Unit

Each year, Ms. Sonia Jennings, from the School of Information Technology and Computer Science at the University of Wollongong , Australia, hosts high school students from all over the state of New South Wales to an "IT Spring School." As part of their visit, these students are treated to a videoconference with students in other countries.Through the efforts of SDSU Education First Fellows, last year, 80 students in Australia and 25 students in Los Angeles, California engaged in a cultural exchange, chatting with each other, learning from each other, and dispelling myths and stereotypes about each other's cultures.

During the Fall of 1998 once again another group of students from the United States and Australia engaged in an exciting cultural exchange.
