1998-1999 School Year Academy Status Report: the past two years have taught us much about the importance of teamwork, patience, persistence and compromise. We have gone through our share of growing pains, but we have come through with some outstanding results. We are starting our third year as an academy, and with the support of the California Partnerships Academy and the Printing Industries Association of Southern California, and its members, we are less than one year away from celebrating the graduation of our first academy class. The class of 2000 is an amazing story of persistence and achievement. When our present seniors first joined the academy in the 9th grade their average GPA was 1.52. Now, these same individuals have an average GPA of 3.10. Our "family" started with five teachers and 56 students in 1997. Now we have grown to over 148 students, nine teachers, and one administrator. |
