My name is Yessenia Contreras, I was on B track, and I am now attending Los Angeles Valley College. Of course college life is different, but I definitely miss being in high school, no more kicking it with your friends between and during classes, "UNDER THE TREE". You have to make choices and no more fooling around, wherein high school life was easy, but it didn't seem that way while we were there. I'm proud to say that I attended and graduated from Los Angeles High School.

Quote on college life or advice to seniors;

All I want to say to the seniors is to expect the unexpected in college. Make sure that you give 110% of yourself each day. You'll come across some failure in life, but nothing is worse than failing if you fail without trying.

College Quote/Advice to all Seniors-

"Graduating from High School and going into college is a completely different experience. You become more independent and become more mature I guess, because you know that you have more responsibilities to face now than what you used to.

College classes are so much different. There is now more reading and library research and such, so it's very challenging.  That is what college is about challenges.... So try your best and go for all your goals; college should be one of them! Good luck to you all and study hard!

The best advice I can give seniors is enjoy your last high school days. Believe me you will miss them.
"It does not matter whether you go straight to a University or community college, what really matters is where you graduate."

Quote on College:

"College is, in one word, interesting. Great time to try new things and meet different people. Do what you want in college because hey, you're the one attending it."

Advice to Seniors:
"Aim High. Do not rest content as a high school graduate. Say to yourself 'My place is at the top' and be King in your dreams."

"Living the college dream... new friends, new places, and new things. Change is always hard to any who have adapted to an environment that has been the same for four years in high school. The old friends soon disperse and nothing is left but the acquaintance of new friends. That is the life that I am currently living in Cal State San Bernardino. The people are great and the school is amazing. What makes this school so unique is the mountains that are near by. We recently have gotten a lot of snow out here which is a rare thing in San Bernardino, al least that is what I have been told. There is one thing that I want to say to Seniors of 2001, I advice many seniors to become full-time students in college. This will allow the motivation of students to succeed with the perseverance of a goal to any major or career in mind. It is a known fact that many freshman in college drop out because of reasons of uncertainty to becoming a successful graduate. With this I end by saying good luck to the freshmen who once again enter a life of another four to eight years in school, the life of adulthood."
