Entrance Requirements

Enrollment is by application and
is voluntary. Applicants must specify Los Angeles High School Math-Science-College
Incentive Magnet as one of their choices on the application. Be
sure to apply before the deadline.

Academic prerequisites for
entrance are:

9th grade:
There should be a successful graduation from middle school with a C
(or better) average in the 8th grade.

10th grade:
There should be successful graduation from junior high school with a
C (or better) average in the 9th grade.

11th and 12th grade:
Students should have successfully completed sufficient credits in
college preparatory courses to qualify for advanced standing.

Reading ability at or above
grade level and good math skills are necessary.

Magnet schools are available
because of students integration options. The atmosphere of Los
Angeles Math-Science College-Incentive Magnet is integrated and will
be maintained so.
