The California Eighth Grade Language Arts Content Standards require that students read one million words a year independently outside of class. To support students in their reading practice we are using The Accelerated Reader Program; students read books on their own time, and earn points for passing computerized tests.
A guide for teachers, administrators, and parents as to the content standards students need to master by the end of each grade level.
This reading list is linked to The California Department of Education website and was developed to assist parents and students in selecting books which correlate to reading levels and interests.
