Description

The T.S. King Middle School Gifted/High Ability/Technology/ Arts Magnet Program is designed for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. King is a year round school with the magnet program on track "A".

The magnet challenges students of ethnically diverse backgrounds with a rigorous academic program. The curriculum creatively integrates technology and art into the core subjects, as well as elective classes.

Classrooms are equipped with cutting-edge technology where students collaborate to create projects. The curriculum incorporates critical and creative thinking skills, research and study skills, with access to specialized classes in technology and the arts.

Students are encouraged to achieve by utilizing a balance of innovative and traditional instructional strategies while incorporating technology as a vital educational tool.

As part of the District's move to improve student achievement we are participating in Math Benchmark Assessments. (Info provided by Local District J)

Some of our students are also available for tutoring through the District's Beyond the Bell program.
