The Temples

Temples are the gods palace; a home for the spirit of the gods. Temples had priests and god servants. It was vital to the spirit of the gods, that rituals took place in the temples. Ordinary people of Egypt had no place in the temples.

Painting: The temples had paintings of the pharaohs, as making the daily offering to his gods. The ritual at every temple was the same. The rituals were to awaken the spirit of the gods, so the spiritual power could help Egypt.

To be ritually pure, priests: washed twice a day in the sacred Lake; Shaved all over; and dressed only in linen. The chief priest would break the clay seals on the shrine doors three times a day. He would wash, anoint, and dress the statue of the gods. He would also cook a meal and would then close the shrine to leave the Sanctuary; sweeping the floor behind him.
