Currency

The basic form of currency is the Egyptian pound, consisting of 100 pilasters (3.382 Egyptian pound equal Us $11,994 ). The central Bank of Egypt was set up in 1961, and it controls government banking. Many domestic and foreign banks operate in the country of Cairo and Alexandria. Both major cities have stock exchanges.
