Egyptians Clothes

In the ancient times of Egypt, the men wore clothes made of linen and flax. The women wore ankle- length dresses, often with one or both shoulders bare. Most of the children didn't wear clothes. The children had there heads shaved. In the cold weather, the priests were expected to wear cloaks of wool or animal skin. The sandals were made of reeds or leather, with a strap over their toes. Men in Egypt had to wear a cloth of linen wrapped all around. Their waists, were covered by a woven fabric, which would cling to the body; since it was a light and cool material. This is according to the evidence of Egyptian Art. They would wear the woven fabric over a short kilt, which was a pleated long skirt. These were brought together at the hips where a pleated apron was covered by a fringed sash. They also wore, over the skirts, a fringed robe made of seamless cloth with much pleating.

FOOD

The rich soil helped the Egyptians, to grow a second crop during their hot months . The crops were garlic, beans, onions, radishes, cucumbers, peas and lettuce. Wine from pressed grapes were produced for Egypt's upper classes. Other fruits such as dates, used to flavor the beer were grown. Figs and pomegranates were available To the population, especially during festival days. The honey was mixed with bread to make cakes. The cattle comprised of livestock. They were not only raised to provide meat, but they were also used for their physical strength; to carry and pull chariots for the farmers.
