WHY should
students create thematic websites and cartoons?
They should
create them
because: They will be exposed to
a new world of on-line research. This can allow the
student to understand that information can be
learned, hypothesized and questioned in many
different modalities. This can be achieved with
supervision of the areas where students can do
research. They will be able to
use all their different modalities to tap into
their immense pool of imagination. Students will be
allowed to create an amazing array of content
without realizing that they are required to use
higher level thinking skills and
strategies. It will allow students
to tap into their artisitic talents and use
computer technology in a very creative
way. They will be able to
apply higher-level thinking strategies to create a
database of information. This creation of databases
allows for students to be the teachers of their own
contents; this process thus allows them to
internalize the information in a variety of
ways. They will: apply
knowledge; use comprehension skills; apply
information learned; analyze information;
synthesize information; evaluate information and
create imagination. They will learn how to
create computer animation graphics which can help
prepare interested
students for a future in
graphic design, animation and computer
programming. |
