First off, I believe that ranking any sort of creative, artistic expression is in fact pointless and ridiculous, I just thought I would make an attempt to see which films were important to me.

There are many films that JUST missed the list, but the following list is representative of my top 50 films of all time- FOR NOW.

I enjoy cinema A LOT- the feelings, emotions, thoughts they inspire, continue to shape my life. I am grateful to all the individuals who were involved in the productions of the following films..

The list will change and shift as films are released and as I watch & rewatch films; this was definitely a hard list to compile...

50. The Beach - 2000

If you find 'paradise', it will be with you always; even if it's just a memory in the end.. Awesome film that reminds me that 'paradise' is a state of mind.

49. The Thing - 1982

Stan Winston's alien puppets and animatronics coupled with Carpenter's suspenseful directing, makes this an intense sci-fi film.

48. E.T. - 1982

Spielberg's film about a wayward alien that befriends Elliot, is memorable and sweet and reminds me that the feeling of family and unity is universal.

47.5. No Country For Old Men - 2007

Javier Bardem's portrayal of the incessant and unstoppable killing machine Anton, and the Coen Brother's brilliant story-telling.. Makes this an intense and unforgettable chase story...

47. There Will be Blood- 2007

Paul Thomas Anderson's story inspired by Upton Sinclair's novel 'Oil!', is intense, harrowing and visionary and it is all brought to life by Daniel Day-Lewis' prolific portrayal of Daniel Plainview..

46.5 The Evil Dead - 1981

Bruce Campbell's battle with the spirits from the Book of the Dead is creepy, spooky and gets me in the mood for Halloween anytime of the year.

46. The Birds - 1963

Hitchcock's film about birds that get revenge, is really spooky and intense and lets us humans know who REALLY is boss, that's right- do NOT mess with Mother Nature
