In operation since April 3, 2000, the King Drew Magnet High School Library Media Center (LMC) is an attractive and inviting facility containing a variety of resources. There are 28 computers—4 of which are online catalogs and the remaining 24 contain programs like Word, Excel, Power Point, Electric Library and access to the Internet. The print collection contains over 16,000 books, 4 different newspapers and over 50 general and special interest magazine titles. The library media center also has an audiovisual collection. The LMC is staffed by one full-time librarian and a library media assistant, both of whom make every effort to meet the ever-growing needs of students and staff. Students have access to the LMC before, during (including nutrition and lunch) and after school. The LMC is one of the busiest places on campus and sees on average 200 students a day!
