Jefferson H.S.

SCHOOL FILE SERVER LOGON

We have created 3800 student and teacher accounts which can be accessed school-wide from Macs, Windows PCs and diskless workstations. The teacher accounts are based on your LAUSDnet username whenever possible.* Student accounts are based on their 4 digit ID number. So a student with 1394 on their ID card will have a username of id1394. Eventually we will send out student account info to the homeroom teachers. Teachers, if you don't know your file server account information, email jefferson-hs@lausd.k12.ca.us for your username and password.

Staff and students are now able to save files into your personal folder from any networked Mac or Windows PC. No more floppies!! You can store up to 10MB of data in your personal directory. No more having your files stuck on one computer.

More information Regarding your School Network Account

You will use this account when you log into the Windows Operating System and when you wish to access school network services, such as the Staff Email Directory. Don’t confuse this account with your LAUSDnet email account or the FoolProof security accounts. You will still check your email with your LAUSDnet account. Although the school account may use the same username as your LAUSDnet account, the passwords are not the same and changing your LAUSDnet password online does not affect your local school account.

Accessing Other Services on the School Network

You will need you school network account to access other school online services. For example, if you want to add your email address to the school listserv and/or look up another staff member's work email address on the Intranet web site, you will need to enter your Jefferson H.S. username and password. No other account will give you access. Your account information will be verified since only staff members have access to this information. Good Luck!

If you have any questions please email jefferson-hs@lausd.k12.ca.us for help.

*If we did not know your LAUSDnet username, we made a local Jefferson HS account name for you. In those cases you will have to remember both usernames to logon a computer a school and get your e-mail. You can check  your LAUSDnet account information by resubmitting the staff account application and indicate the you already have an account. LAUSDnet account forms are in the Main Office and can be downloaded from the district web site.
