NEW: The ISIS system was launched at Jefferson HS in March 2006. Classroom attendance and grades use this online computer system. You will need your LAUSD/email account. The LAUSD email system uses your existing username. Your initial password is your employee number. For ITD support for email, call 213-241-5200. Option 6 is for account questions. When in doubt, send all questions to ITD Hotline and they will route the request to the appropriate party. Try the E-mail form for ITD.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

SIS and All Admin. Computers	Report repair to ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, E-mail, or Fax. For the SIS Helpdesk, call 213-241-5200 or 213-241-4850.	Select the SIS option from the menu and report your problem. Include the model number and the serial number, location, and contact person.
New ISIS System	The Integrated Student Information Service (ISIS) will begin at Jefferson HS in March, 2006. "ISIS is an Early Childhood to Adult Education student/school management system that consolidates a number of existing student information systems. ISIS integrates all student information in a shared, centralized and secure Web-based system of student records for all schools and offices." See the ISIS FAQ for more information. IBM, IBM Laptops and Gateway PCs	PCs are covered the first 5 years. Call in repairs to Arey Jones, Inc. 800-998-9199. Email ione @ areyjones.com . Then call ITD.	Provide type (ie, 6341-KDU) and serial number (lower front corner). Record reference number of call.
All Macintosh computers	Report repair to ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, E-mail, or Fax.	Provide serial number from bottom of iMac. Record reference number of call.
Tangent PCS other PCs	Report repair to ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, E-mail, or Fax.	Select the SIS option from the menu and report your problem. Include the model number and the serial number, location, and contact person.
Printers	Report repair to ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, E-mail, or Fax. Try this first: Check the cables for connection, restart the PC and printer, remove any paper jam, make sure the correct printer is selected. Then report problem.	However, ITD as of 8/04 is no longer repairing items valued under $300.

LAUSDnet Accounts (email), new or lost	You MUST call the ITD Hotline at 213-241-5200 option 7 for email issues. To apply for a new LAUSD account or to correct an issue with an account, see the new Sign-On-User guide. Faxed applications are no longer accepted.. Indicate that you already have an account if you lost your account. They can help look up an old username. The initial password is your employee number. LAUSD Notebook accounts	LAUSD notebook accounts are for employees only. The Notebook is a section of the LAUSD web site that is just for employees. It includes access to memos and bulletins, recourses such as DSS and salary point information, health benefit information, etc. To access the Notebook (also called Inside LAUSD and the LAUSD Intranet) go to the LAUSD home page and select Employees. Select Inside LAUSD and create an account with your email account if you have not already done so. You can also go directly to http://notebook.lausd.net
LAUSDnet Dial up Directions	See LAUSD online Tech Support. Directions are written out for both Mac and Windows PCs. Ph: 213-241-5200	You can also call the ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, M-F from 8am-5:30 pm.
Buzzing sound from a wall outlet	Look for an electrical outlet with a blinking red light. Tighten the center plastic screw with a paper clip or screw driver.	.
Computer will not shut down	Tangent and MMax PCs: Press small reset button. IBM PCs: Press and hold start button for at least 10 seconds. iMacs: Hold power button for at least 10 seconds.	Use the info listed above if this does not work and you need to report a hardware problem.
Replace mice, keyboards, printer cartridges, etc.	Departments and programs order their own supplies. See the online Dept. Chair Resources.	Talk to you Department Chair and Dept. tech reps to make sure supplies are ordered early in the year.
Discard old PCs and monitors	Record manufacturer, model, sn, and LAUSD Red Tag is available.	Send to the Plant Manger's office with documentation.
Repair TVs and VCRs	Report repair to ITD Hotline, 213-241-5200, E-mail, or Fax.	All district purchased TVs and VCRs are covered by ITD. However, ITD as of 8/04 is no longer repairing items valued under $300.
Repair Zenith wall-mounted TVs and VCRs.	Call Brad (or any available rep) at Wards Furniture, Ph: 562-591-2314.	Supply model and serial number.
DreamWriter word processors	No longer supported or under warranty.	.
Change LAUSD email password	Try the new LAUSD self-service web site, https://idmlogin.lausd.net . You can also reset a password if you forgot yours. You can also log into your email account and change it. Select My Account. Follow the directions. Change your password every 4 months.	You can change your password online. Will take effect in 24 hours
Inexpensive/Free software?	OpenOffice can do most of the tasks that MS Office does. See also TheOpenCD and GNU WinII for collections of open source software.	.
